So many customers have asked for a louder take on the S10V. The S44L takes everything I like about the S10V and pumps up the volume to a level that will piss off your drummer. It's goes in a different direction as the rest of the "S" family of products that were intended to pay tribute to Tweed amps. Instead, it's a nod to the sounds that got me into playing guitar.

I was a young teen when I first heard the DOD Grunge pedal at a cousins house. That sound got me into playing music. Through the years of playing hardcore and heavy southern rock, my taste in tone always harkened back to the depth and raw tones of 90s grunge guitars. Big stacks, no compression, and the rebirth of tube amps being a must-have for the pros. 90's music wasn't the best, but the guitar tones were unarguably on point!

Like the S10V, the S44L captures a raw guitar tone and gives it more juice than you'll ever ask for. The tone shaping controls are familiar and the internal design of the amp leans heavily on EQ'ing a player's sound with capacitors, rather than resistors. Go from Coupling Caps with the LowPass of a Marshall Super Bass or roll off the lows and stay as mid forward as the common JTM. The 6L6s in the power section will keep the low end rounded and punchy regardless of where it's rolled off. The 5UR Rectifier tube allows for decent voltage drop while maintaining current needs of the 6L6 pair. This Rectifier tube choice adds a slight bit of compression. The amp signal is kicked off with a dual triode ran in parallel. This is like jumping channels together on classic 50s / 60s amps. The first 12AX7 is also equipped with a Preamp Bias Control. This knob swings plate voltages from ~150v to ~240v. The end result is more depth and hair control in the preamp section.

This amp is only available to order in 2025.
