The Robi
A Marla Amplification x Casino Guitars Collaboration
Limited Release – Available for 45 Days Only
Launching Monday, February 16
The Robi is what happens when everything players love about the Marla S15C gets pushed into beautifully dangerous territory.
Built on the foundation of the S15C, the Robi adds a rich, thick, vintage-inspired fuzz circuit that feels less like a pedal and more like a living, breathing extension of the amplifier itself. This isn’t a bolt-on gimmick. It’s a cascading fuzz design that interacts directly with the amp’s front end — creating textures that purists and tone chasers will absolutely obsess over.
And it’s only here for 45 days.
A True Collaboration
The Robi is a collaboration between Marla Amplification and Casino Guitars.
The team at Casino Guitars are industry leaders in storytelling, insight, and commentary within the music world. They’ve built a reputation as some of the most trusted and respected voices in music retail — not because they chase trends, but because they understand players, gear, and the culture that surrounds it.
More importantly, they’re just incredible people.
Working closely with Sir Sean Deisfeld, the amplifier section was carefully re-voiced to support not only the cascading fuzz circuit, but a wide range of drive, modulation, and time-based pedals. The result is an amp that feels intentional in every response and dynamic in every touch.
And yes — the Robi is named after Sean and Skylar’s favorite dog, Robitussin.
Because sometimes the best ideas are inspired by great tone… and great dogs.
What Makes the Robi Different?
The Robi isn’t just an S15C with fuzz. It’s a carefully refined evolution.
Twice the Negative Feedback
The Robi features double the negative feedback of the S15C. The result? Greater dynamic control. Your right hand determines how quickly the amp pushes into clipping before the power section. Play light, stay clean. Dig in, and it growls.
Refined Grid Leak Resistor
The front end is slightly cooled before hitting the 6L6, giving the Robi a wider dynamic range and cleaner headroom when pushed. It’s still a 15+ watt puncher — just with noticeably more space before the power tube squares off.
Vintage Rectifier SAG
The Robi runs a 5Y3 rectifier that can be heard gasping for air when the amp is cranked. Combined with the lower-voltage fuzz architecture, the sag creates a transient bloom that vintage purists chase and rarely find in modern builds.
This is compression you feel under your fingers.
The Fuzz: Silicon Meets Germanium
The Robi’s fuzz circuit is built around a deliberate transistor pairing:
BC109 (Silicon) – Tight, mid-forward, articulate. Known from classic silicon fuzz circuits, it anchors the front end with focus and clarity.
2N404 (Germanium) – Thick, wooly, and harmonically rich. Originally introduced by RCA in 1957, this TO-5 packaged germanium transistor appears in several revered vintage fuzz designs, including harmonic percolator-style circuits.
Together, they deliver something rare:
Definition without harshness.
Thickness without mud.
Vintage feel without instability.
The Watchtower Speaker
Another North Carolina collaboration brings the Mojotone Watchtower speaker into the Robi.
Inspired by late-’60s Greenback tones, the Watchtower delivers 25 watts of bold, creamy, vintage grind. It doesn’t just reproduce sound — it moves air.
At the end of the day, isn't that why we choose amps over modelers? We want to feel the speaker punching us on stage with the air that has been summoned by our fingertips.
45 Days. That’s It.
The Robi launches Monday, February 16 and will only be available for 45 days.
When it’s gone, it’s gone.
If you love the S15C but have always wanted it to snarl, sag, and bloom like a late-night ’60s session — this is your window into that world!
